Resonans: the majestic sound of the nyckelharpa

The nyckelharpa or key fiddle was used for a short time in half of Europe at the end of the Middle Ages. Pushed out by the advancing violin family, the instrument survived in a small enclave in Sweden. There the nyckelharpa underwent a stormy technical development. The result: an advanced instrument with a masterful sound!

Resonans Consort started in 2020 as the Resonans Quartet and has been playing with 3 people in the core of the line-up since 2023; namely: Elayne Lussenburg, Tonny Holsbergen and Tim de Wijs. In addition, Resonans Consort performs with guest players who are added to the trio for variation.
